Huawei’s latest budget smartphone arrives in South Africa today.
Called the Huawei Y7 2019, the features a large 6.26 inch LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, 1520×720 resolution, and teardrop notch.

That notch houses an 8MP selfie camera, while around the back there’s a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP sensor for depth information.
Internally, Huawei’s using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 instead of one of its own Kirin chips. That’s mated to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be increased through a microSD card in its hybrid SIM slot.
The phone also has a rear fingerprint reader, a headphone jack, and a 4000mAh battery.
The Y7 2019 runs Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2, and features a microUSB connector.
Expect it to arrive in two colours — Aurora Blue and Midnight Black — from 1 March 2019 for R3999.
