Ultimate Ears’ Wonderboom 2 speaker features ‘way more bass’ for $100

Speaker brand Ultimate Ears on Tuesday revealed the Wonderboom 2, the company’s second Wonderboom portable Bluetooth speaker.

The 104mm tall speaker weighs 420g, and features “way more bass” according to marketing material. Ultimate Ears also claims that the speaker can top 86 dBc in loudness.

The Wonderboom 2 also shows off 13 hours of battery life, lasting three hours longer than its predecessor.

“An IP67 rating means it’s super waterproof, dust-proof, and built to make a splash. It’s your floatable pool pal, your shower buddy, your summer soundtrack,” the company said on its website.

In fact, the device can be submerged in one meter deep water for approximately 30 minutes.

“Connect up to two source devices simultaneously, wirelessly play (stream) music from either one,” Ultimate Ears also noted.

The Bluetooth speaker comes in radical red, Bermuda blue, crushed ice grey, and deep space black colour variants.

The Wonderboom 2 will be available for purchase towards the end of June for $100. It’s not clear when the speaker will be heading to South Africa just yet.
