Canon on Tuesday released two new Powershot G series cameras in the form of the PowerShot G5 X Mark II and the PowerShot G7 X Mark III.
Both the 20MP compact devices feature a 1.0-Type stacked sensor, 4K movie capabilities, wireless connectivity and RAW Burst mode.

The cameras also feature automatic and manual focus as well and can shoot at up to 20 frames per second.
While the touchscreen G7 X Mark III boasts a 4.2x f/1.8-2.8 lens, live streaming function and mic input, the G5 X Mark II includes a pop-up electronic view finder and a 5x f/1.8-2.8 lens.
Canon on Tuesday also announced that launch of the RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM lens for “creative enthusiasts”.
The lens is compatible with the company’s EOS R range and features a switchable focus ring, f/4-6.3 aperture, nano USM autofocus and 24-240mm zoom range.
“This lens is the perfect travel lens and an ideal choice for photographers entering the world of the EOS R System – it is compact and light, yet does not compromise on quality,” Canon Europe Ambassador Richard Walch said in a press release.
Currently, Canon has not indicated when the cameras and lens will be available in South Africa.
