Huawei, starting this month, will release its EMUI 9.1 user interface update to at least 14 of its smartphones in South Africa.
Based on Android 9.0 Pie, EMUI 9.1 will include performance improvements for gamers and those who extensively access files on their devices, Huawei’s Share OneHop NFC-based file sharing service, video ringtones, and one-handed gesture navigation.

The following devices in South Africa will receive the update through July into August. No specific dates have been provided by the company:

- Mate 10 Pro
- P20 Pro
- P20
- Mate 10 Porsche Design
- Mate RS
August:
- P10 Plus
- P10
- Mate 9
- Mate 20 Lite
- P30 Lite
- P Smart 2019

Notably, the oldest phone on this list — the Huawei Mate 9 — is already three years old, but will nonetheless receive an update.
The likes of the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro already run EMUI 9.1, hence their absence from the list.
