The Apple Watch Series 5 broke cover on Tuesday, complete with an always-on display. And Apple literally means “always on”.
An LTPO display including dynamic refresh rate as low as 1Hz, and Apple’s also fitted a low-power display driver, ambient light sensor.

It all sounds great, but if you’re wondering what this does for the battery… well, not much. The Watch Series 5 still has 18 hours of battery life, though.
The timepiece also comes with a built-in compass, and emergency calling is now available in more than 100 countries.
There are now two titanium options as well as a ceramic white finish, too. And yes, Nike and Hermes are still involved.
Apple Watch Series 5 aluminium models are now made of 100% recycled metal.
You’ll need to fish out $399 for the GPS models. $499 for the cellular model.
You can order the watch after the keynote, and will be available from 20 September.
The Series 3 is being kept too, but drops to $199.
