Apple this week announced that iPhone 11 owners will soon see an “Important Display Message” warning them if their screens are not genuine.
In an updated post on its support blog, the company revealed that the new message will pop up when a generic screen replacement is detected.

The message will note that Apple cannot verify that the device has a “genuine Apple display”.
According to the company, the message will remain on a user’s lock screen for four days and will be viewable in the settings app for 15 days.
“After that period, you can find the notification by going to Settings > General > About,” Apple explained.
The new feature will affect all three devices in the new iPhone 11 range.
