Valve has updated Half-Life 2 for the first time in five years, finally fixing a weird bug that prevented non-playable characters in the game from blinking since 2014.
In an abrupt post on Steam, the developer announced that it “fixed NPCs [non-playable characters] not blinking” along with several other bugs that plagued the game as well.

Besides making characters blink again, the developers also repaired “missing sounds on combine soldiers”, “a hitch when saving games” and “SteamVR running when entering the settings menu”.
The update is also available for Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and Half-Life: Source.
Half-Life’s long-awaited third instalment, meanwhile, remains a mystery.
