Sorry PlayStation fans. Sony on Tuesday announced that it will not attend E3 2020, one of the biggest consumer electronics and gaming shows of the year.
It’ll be the second year running that the firm will miss out on the expo, an edition which was largely dominated by Microsoft as a result.

Despite this threat, Sony feels that E3 isn’t the “right venue” for the company.
“We will build upon our global events strategy in 2020 by participating in hundreds of consumer events across the globe. Our focus is on making sure fans feel part of the PlayStation family and have access to play their favorite content,” it said in a statement to GamesIndustry.biz.
“We have a fantastic line up of titles coming to PlayStation 4, and with the upcoming launch of PlayStation 5, we are truly looking forward to a year of celebration with our fans,” it continued.
It’s not clear where Sony will launch its PlayStation 5 console, but it definitely won’t be in Las Vegas come mid-year.
