Nokia on Monday announced two budget smartphones arriving in South Africa this month, headlined by the Nokia 2.3.
Although the Nokia C1 is a great deal if you’re after a sub-R1000 phone, the Nokia 2.3 is for those wanting a bigger screen, battery, and quicker chipset.

For R1999, Nokia’s giving consumers a 6.2-inch display with 1520×720 resolution.
There’s 32GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, and a Mediatek Helio A22 at its heart. A microSD card slot is also included.
At the rear, the Nokia 2.3 boasts a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor for portraits and bokeh. A 5MP selfie camera also features.
The biggest feature of the device is a 4000mAh battery, which should push this phone to two days per charge. That’s a good thing too, because no fast charging tech is included.
Nevertheless, you’re also getting 4G support, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and FM radio support.
The phone will be available in South Africa in cyan green and charcoal.
