If you own a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus, you’ll now have to either upgrade if you want regular Android updates, or settle for quarterly patches.
The range that was launched what feels like decades ago now (actually March 2017) is currently running Android 9.0 Pie, and will now receive updates every three months instead of one.

That’s probably fine for some users, and shouldn’t really come as a surprise considering the S8’s age.
While it’s unlikely that the S8 will get an official version of Android 10, at least the device will be supported well beyond the flagship smartphone release cycle.
Tablets receiving updates every three months include the Galaxy Tab A (2019), the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, Tab S4, Tab S5e, Tab S6 and the relatively new Tab S6 5G.
Phones include the Galaxy A31, A17 5G, A2 Core and a number of older A devices.
