For those hoping to see more Xiaomi devices land in South Africa, here’s some good news. The company has announced that the Redmi Note 9S will launch locally in June.
Despite its mid-range price, the smartphone features a quad-camera setup for its main camera and a 5020mAh battery.

The main camera comprises of a 48MP main lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth-sensing lens. For its front-facing camera, the device has a 16MP lens.
In addition to this, other features include a 6.67-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 720G processor, 18W fast charging support, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. You can choose between 4GB and 6GB RAM variants of the phone, with the latter also featuring 128GB of onboard storage.
The device will be available from June 5 on Takealot and June 15 on the Mobile In Africa website. The exact price of the smartphone will depend on the version you choose.
