Meanwhile, the company also showed off its new ultrathin and light laptops, including the new ZenBook Flip 13, ZenBook Flip S, and ZenBook 14.
Here’s a roundup of the different devices, as well as the pricing and availability details for South Africa.
Asus ZenBook Flip 13
Asus announced the launch of the Zenbook Flip 13 — the world’s thinnest 13.3-inch convertible laptop.
The Zenbook Flip 13 includes an FHD touchscreen and a flexible 360-degree hinge that allows you to arrange the device in a variety of form factors.
Other features include a 16-hour battery life, an 11th Gen Inten Core i7 processor, and up to 16GB of RAM.
The device functions as both an ultrathin and an ultralight laptop. It measures just 13.9mm thick and weighs 1.3kg.
An optional Asus Pen accessory is also available to use with the device.
The ZenBook Flip 13 will be available in South Africa from November 2020.
According to Asus, you will be able to buy the laptop from Incredible Connection, with prices starting from R19 999.
Asus ZenBook 14 laptop
Asus has taken its ScreenPad technology, seen on the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo, and incorporated it in a small form on the new ZenBook 14.
This screenpad acts as a secondary touchscreen for enhanced productivity. On the ZenBook 14, it measures 5.65-inches, significantly smaller than the one seen on the Zephyrus Duo.
The ultraportable laptop, which weighs 1.19kg, also features an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and up to a 1TB SSD.
The Asus ZenBook 14 will launch in Q4 2020. However, Asus has yet to announce the local price.
Asus ExpertBook B9 business laptop
The new lineup of devices includes the refreshed Asus ExpertBook B9.
The new ExpertBook B9 includes an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with Iris Xe graphics and 32GB of DDR4 memory.
It also comes with MIL-STD 810H US military certification, which means it is equipped to withstand environmental pressures and drops.
For the work-from-home and remote conferencing era, the laptop has Asus AI noise-cancelling technology and a 360° far-field microphone setup along with Harman Kardon-certified speakers.
A few other features include infrared-based biometric face login and automatic locking when the user steps away from the laptop.
For privacy-conscious users, the webcam even has a physical sliding shield.
At 880 grams, the laptop is also incredibly light. While there’s no word on pricing yet, the laptop will be available in South Africa in Q1 2021.
ZenBook Flip S
Keeping with the ultra-thin and light theme, Asus also announced another convertible laptop as part of its lineup — the ZenBook Flip S.
Like the Flip 13, the convertible laptop features a 360-degree flexible hinge.
However, it also comes with a 4K UHD OLED touchscreen — making it the world’s thinnest OLED convertible laptop according to Asus.
Other features include an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, a 15-hour battery life, and up to 16GB of RAM.
The device weighs 1.2kg and measures 13.9mm thick.
The ZenBook Flip S is aimed at creative professionals for whom colour accuracy and resolution are very important in a display.
The device will launch in South Africa in November 2020. It will be available from Incredible Connection for a starting price of R32 999.
