South African gamers get to “power their dreams” (and the upcoming holiday season) with Xbox’s next generation of consoles, the Xbox Series X and Series S — as you can now pre-order yours starting today.

Previously known as Project Scarlett, last week’s announcement by Xbox confirmed that the new consoles will launch in over 30 countries during November, with more to follow in December.

The console, positioned as a rival to gaming PCs, boasts some impressive specs and features.

These include SSD storage and backward compatibility with previous Xbox console games.

Xbox Series X and Series S games

Originally intended to be released alongside the next entry in the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite, the consoles’ release will still move ahead in November despite the game’s delay.

However, at the Xbox Series X Games Showcase back in May, several Xbox Game Studios titles were revealed that console owners can look forward to.

This includes Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Gears Tactics, as well as third-party releases such as Cyperpunk 2077, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Assassins Creed Valhalla.

More information on the Xbox Series X and S consoles, peripherals, and supported games will be available closer to release.

You can also find out more and follow updates on the consoles on Xbox Wire.

But pre-order availability is not the only Xbox news this week.

On Monday, Microsoft announced that publisher Bethesda will join Team Xbox as part of an acquisition.
