You will soon be able to play as Milla Jovovich in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

In anticipation of the upcoming Monster Hunter film starring Milla Jovovich, Capcom has announced that, for a limited time, they will be adding “film-inspired Event Quests in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne” — which will be released on 4 December 2020.

The new two-part quest brings together the two worlds of the game expansion, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, and the upcoming Monster Hunter film. This singleplayer side missions will allow you to play as Artemis, the protagonist from the upcoming film. The film stars Resident Evil and Hellboy actress Milla Jovovich as Artemis.

Monster Hunter in-game bonuses

In this new quest, players will jump meet two creatures from the movie: the Black Diablos and Greater Ratholos. Players will also gain access to special bonus items.

As a rather important side note though, only players who have achieved Master Rank will be able to take part. This also includes the bonus items, which you will only receive once you’ve completed the mission.

“For those valiant enough to succeed, items like special gear, layered armor, new titles, a new background, and Guild Card pose will become available,” Capcom said in its press release.

For those who own the Iceborne DLC but have not yet reached the Master Hunter rank, there’s still a little something for you. Starting 27 November, you will be able to claim one limited-time item pack as a log-in bonus.

Not sure how much of a consolation this is… but at least it’s something, right?

Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Event Horizon), the Monster World film follows Lt. Artemis and a group of super-soldiers who are transported through a portal to a mysterious world ruled by deadly creatures.

For those who might be interested, most of the film was shot in South Africa!

The new two-parter quest event will hit Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on 4 December.

The Monster Hunter film will be released in December. Currently, there is no specific release date for South Africa.
