“Esports and gaming in South Africa is rocking. And at Mettlestate, there isn’t a single day of the week that doesn’t hold a gaming competition or opportunity to win cash prizes,” said Mettlestate’s Managing Director, Barry Louzada, told Memeburn.

“As more and more people gain access to the internet and new devices, we expect gaming and streaming to grow to amazing levels in the years to come.”

How do I join the Streamer Zone for South Africa?

The StreamerZone is open to any streamers aged 16 and over. Streamers can sign up on the Mettlestate website.

Applicants need to provide links to their YouTube or Twitch channels and indicate what games they stream.

The platform also asks streamers to motivate why they should feature on it and what their goals are.

“Being a streamer in Africa has its challenges, between trying to manage load shedding and access to the internet,” Louzada explained.

Mettlestate is known for hosting esports events both virtually and in-person.

Their game roster includes multiplayer, fighting, and racing simulator games.

These include Fortnite, Apex Legends, Tekken 7, and F1 2020.
