LG 2021 TVs coming to SA in Q2: Here’s what to look forward to

LG QNED Lineup

LG has announced that its 2021 line-up of OLED, QNED Mini LED, and NanoCell TVs will launch in South Africa in the second quarter of the year.

The 2021 range includes a wide series of different options for consumers, including large OLED TVs and LG’s first-ever QNED mini LED televisions.

Many of the new televisions are also available in both 4K and 8K models, which should satisfy users who want to jump onto the next generation of display resolutions.

LG 2021 OLED TVs

The new OLEDs from LG will include the Z1, G1, C1, B1, and A1 series.

While the Z1 series is LG’s premium, large-display OLED range, the A1 series is aimed at providing a more affordable OLED option.

The C1 series offers one of the widest size ranges of the OLED TV series, from 48-inch to 83-inch models.

Meanwhile, the G1 is part of LG’s Gallery OLED TV designs — meant to sit flush against a wall with its ultra-slim design.

All the TVs feature the signature high contrast and improved HDR of OLED technology, while favouring thin profiles for their design.

LG QNED Mini LED TVs

The 2021 range of TVs also includes the company’s first-ever QNED Mini LED TVs. These televisions make up part of LG’s LCD TV category.

The range will include 90-inch and 85-inch models with 4K resolution, as well as 99-inch and 95-inch models with 8K resolution.

“The range of 4K (models QNED90, QNED85) and 8K models (models QNED99, QNED95) combine LG’s cutting-edge Quantum Dot NanoCell technology and 30 000 mini-LEDs in the backlight to give home viewers the image quality of HDR, more accurate colours, and a far more immersive movie experience,” the company says.

New NanoCell TVs

The company’s lineup will also include new NanoCell 8K and 4K TVs. According to LG, this series provides the largest number of options for consumers.

The 8K range launching in South Africa will include the NANO99 and NANO95 models.

Meanwhile, the 4K range will include NANO90, NANO85, NANO80, NANO77, and NANO75 models.

According to LG, the NanoCell technology in these TVs uses nanoparticles to filter out colour impurities.

Pricing for the series and different models will be available closer to launch.
