HMD Global launches Nokia 1.4 in South Africa – specs and price

HMD Global has unveiled the Nokia 1.4 budget smartphone, which is now available in South Africa, and announced its local price.

The 1.4 is the biggest device in Nokia’s Series 1 range. The phone is aimed at family usage with features such as a big display and two-day battery life. It’s priced to compete against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy A02 and Vivo Y1s.

The Nokia 1.4 is a large phone, measuring 166.42mm tall, 76.72mm wide, and 8.7mm thick. It comes in Charcoal and Fjord colours.

On the front, the phone boasts a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with 720 x 1600 resolution. There is also a 5MP selfie notch camera located at the top of the display.

Inside, the phone uses a Qualcomm QM215 CPU. It runs Android 10 Go Edition OS which can upgrade to Android 11. Other technical specifications include 2GB of RAM and 32GB on-board storage.

Power-wise, the phone uses a 4000mAh battery.

On the back, it has a dual-camera system made up of an 8MP main lens and a 2MP macro lens.

Other phone features include a rear fingerprint sensor, Google Assistant button, and expandable storage up to 128GB.

Nokia 1.4 Price and availability

The Nokia 1.4 costs R1 999 and is available at Vodacom 4U and Chatz Connect stores.

The phone is available in Charcoal and with a free cover and screen protector valued at R250. It also comes with a three-year security updates package.
