The two new colours are Midnight Black and Cosmic Red.

Midnight Black features a deep shade of black with light grey detailing, while Cosmic Red boasts maroon-like panels over a black shell.

Both controllers still have the blue notification light strips running along their centre.

“We wanted the new controller colors to complement each other, as well as the original DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console, so we designed the colors around the theme of ‘galaxy’ as it felt like a natural progression from the original PS5 and accessories designs,” said PlayStation design team member, Leo Cardoso in a statement.

PS5 DualSense controllers come equipped with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Upon launch, critics regarded them as a highlight of the PS5 console experience.

PlayStation published a video showing off the two new colours:

Pre-orders for the PS5 Dualshock wireless controller in Midnight Black and Cosmic Red are now open in South Africa.

The controllers cost R1 499 each, the same price as the Glacier White controller.

You can pre-order the red and black controllers on Koodoo. Other sites that stock the white controller include Incredible Connection, Game, and Loot.

Currently, the red and black controllers are only available as standalone products. They don’t come included in PS5 console purchases.
