It is the fifth installment in the franchise which dates back to 2006.

“This full reboot is the most fun and exhilaration we’ve packed into a Saints Row experience to date,” Volition Chief Creative Officer, Jim Boone, said in a statement.

“The iconic new location brings so many exciting opportunities to delight players – whether they are long-time fans of the series or jumping in for the first time.”

Saints Row gameplay and story

The game takes place in the fictional city of Santo Ileso, located in the American Southwest.

In a city run by gangs plagued by violent crime, the story follows a group of young friends who set to become the most notorious criminals.

Players assume the role of the friends and explore the open-world city while also getting into gunfights and chases while taking down each of the gang factions and assuming control.

The game features a wide variety of weapons and vehicles, as well as several urban and desert environments that players can traverse. Players can customise their weapons and vehicles, as well as the character they play.

The game also features a co-op mode which lets players team up with their friends online.
