The Apple Watch Series 7, the latest generation of the company’s smartwatch, is now available in South Africa.
The watch is available to purchase at the iStore following its global launch earlier this month.

Apple Watch Series 7 details
The Series 7 features several design upgrades from the previous model.
It features a re-engineered Always-On display with thinner borders and more screen area. It also has a new QWERTY keyboard and user interface optimised for the larger display.
Health features include an electrical heart sensor and ECG app, a blood oxygen sensor and app, and a new Mindfulness app.
Apple has also made enhancements to Messages and the Photos app.
It is the first Apple Watch to have IP6X certification for dust resistance and like its predecessor, it has a WR50 water resistance rating. This means the watch is water-resistant up to a depth of 50 metres.
According to Apple, the watch has an 18-hour battery life and a 33% faster charging speed.
Price and availability in South Africa
The watch is available in 41mm and 45mm screen sizes, and aluminium or stainless steel cases. Customers can also choose from GPS and cellular-enabled models, or ones with just GPS.
Prices for the Apple Watch Series 7 in South Africa are as follows:
- Apple Watch Series 7 Aluminium – GPS: R8 499 (41mm)/ R8 999 (45mm)
- Apple Watch Series 7 Aluminium – GPS + Cellular: R10 499 (41mm)/ R11 099 (45mm)
- Apple Watch Series 7 Stainless Steel – GPS + Cellular: R14 699 (41mm) / R 15 699 (45mm)
Stainless steel models are only available with GPS and cellular connectivity.
Prices for the stainless steel cases are also subject to change if customers wish to purchase one with a metal or rubber band.
The Series 7 is available with five different aluminium case colours and three stainless steel case colours.
The aluminium colours include Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Green, and (PRODUCT)RED. Meanwhile, the stainless steel colours include Silver, Graphite, and Gold.
There is also a Nike edition of the Series 7 available to purchase. It is available with either a Midnight or Starlight aluminium case.
Apple also offers an iCare Plus package for the Series 7. The package extends the warranty coverage to two years and includes an Apple Authorised screen repair.
It costs R399 for aluminium watches and R999 for stainless steel ones.
Customers can also get up to R4 000 off their watch purchase if they trade in their old Apple products.
