Sony has announced its new LinkBuds — featuring an open ring design that it says will provide a “never off” wearing experience — along with the planned launch date and price for South Africa.
According to the company, the earbuds are designed in a way that allows you to hear what’s around you, while also allowing you to listen to your favourite audio.

“You’ll never have to switch off, thanks to LinkBuds’ new, super small, ergonomic design. Approximately four grams in weight, these earbuds are a marvel of miniaturisation,” the company said in a press release.
Furthermore, the company says it has used ear shape data to ensure that the earbuds are ergonomically designed.
“You’ll barely notice you’re wearing them, making them the perfect companion all day, every day,” the company added.
The earphones use adaptive volume control to automatically adjust volume to the environment of the user. Meanwhile, 360 Reality Audio provides an immersive surround sound effect.
For convenience, you don’t need to tap on the buds to control them. Rather, you just need to tap near the ear.
They also have voice command functionality for using Google Assistant and Alexa hands-free.
Sony has highlighted the LinkBuds’ battery life and charging features. They have 5.5 hours of playing time, along with an extra 12 hours when using the case to recharge.
Furthermore, if you charge the earphones for 10 minutes, you get 90 minutes of use.
In addition, IPX4 water resistance makes the LinkBuds resistant to sweat and water spills.
