Vivo South Africa has opened its first standalone service center in the Western Cape with the launch of its Canal Walk store in Cape Town.
The service center aims to bring customers a range of value-added and warranty support, including phone repairs and free after-sales services.

The opening of the new centre, which took place in April, follows the launch of the Vivo Y76 5G smartphone earlier in the month.
The centre, as well as the planned launch of more devices locally, is part of the company’s expansion plan in South Africa.
“This store is one of the most important service experience facilities we’ve built in South Africa and it will play an important role in the growth of vivo South Africa for years to come,” Jeff Cao, CEO of Vivo Mobile South Africa, says.
The centre provides free services such as software updates, system recovery, and cleaning the customer’s smartphone.
Even if your phone is out of warranty, customers do not pay a labour fee for repairs. Rather, you will only be charged for the cost of replacement parts.
Vivo Y76 5G smartphone launch
The smartphone company plans to launch more premium devices in South Africa in the third quarter of the year.
In April, the company announced the arrival of the Y76 5G in South Africa.
While many of the Vivo smartphones available locally are budget devices, the Y76 5G aims for a more premium mid-range market.
The phone includes a 6.58-inch FHD+ display, a triple-lens setup for its main camera, and 44W fast charging.
For its main camera, the device has a 50MP main lens accompanied by two 2MP lenses (a macro lens and bokeh lens). For its selfie camera, the device has a 16MP lens.
It also sports 8GB of RAM and a 7nm 5G processor.
The price of the Y76 5G in South Africa is R8 999, with the smartphone available through Vodacom and MTN.
Potential customers are able to view the smartphone, as well as other Vivo devices, as the service center in Canal Walk.
