The devices promise efficiency and a list of other convincing AI features that Honor says will disrupt the status quo when it comes to the latest smartphone introductions in the market, the Magic series.

The magic series sees the Honor Mage V2 and the Honor Magic 6 Pro convincingly enter the market.

The Honor Magic V2 is Honor’s pledge for excellence as Honor prides themselves on having introduced one of the thinnest and lightest inward-foldable smartphones to date.

Honor brings forward improved battery, display, and user experience aspects while the Honor Magic 6 Pro brings forward some interesting AI camera capabilities.

While guests were treated to some magic performed by Brendon Peel at the launch, it was interesting to see some innovative AI features come out from the Honor camp.

The Honor Magic V2 is the first foldable smartphone to debut on South African shores, and brings the world’s thinnest and lightest foldable, measuring 9.9mm with a weight of 231g.

This introduces a massive leap for the brand and a definite statement thrown to competitors

We spot a titanium hinge on the Magic V2 made with SGS-certified Honor steel alongside a bankable durably ready hinge that is ready to withstand more than 400,000 folds, guaranteeing a lifespan of up to ten years of flexing.

A card-thin battery on both sides of the foldable comes with 5 000mAh of battery power all compressed inside the 2.72mm thick device.

Honor also introduced the Honor Magic 6 Pro, a device the industry claims has scored the most points at DXOMMARK.

The Honor Magic 6 Pro carries cool photography-focused AI which complements the 50MP wide camera, 50MP ultra-wide camera, and 180MP periscope telephoto camera

Honor introduced the AI-powered Magic Portal feature a feature that aims to make daily tasks easier by offering service shortcut recommendations that enable users to navigate various apps with one click for efficient multitasking.

Users get to click and hold specific text or pictures and drag them to the edge of the screen. This will trigger diverse services such as navigation, search, shopping, and or social sharing.

General Manager of Honor Technologies Africa, Fred Zhou, expressed his excitement of the launch saying, “We’re eagerly awaiting to introduce these devices to the public.

“The Magic Series redefines industry standards as every bit of technology embedded in these devices has been developed and tested by Honor – which means we can guarantee these smartphones are nothing like you’ve seen before.”

Both the Honor Magic V2 and the Honor Magic 6 Pro are available for purchase at selected network providers.

While the Honor Magic V2 comes in black with a special vegan leather back, its recommended retail price sits at R 39 999.

The Honor Magic 6 Pro comes in Epi Green and Black variants and retails at R27 999.
