This indicates a significant focus on portrait photography, with features like powerful sensors, advanced AI processing, and refined bokeh effects to capture professional-looking portraits.

Honor, the renowned smartphone brand, has officially unveiled its latest lineup, the Honor 200 Series, in the South African market.

Building upon the success of its predecessors, the Honor 200 Series promises cutting-edge features and a compelling user experience.

Improvements and key features

1. Photography excellence

The Honor 200 Pro, the flagship model of the series, boasts an impressive camera system. It features a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto sensor, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor.

Notably, it also includes a front-facing 50MP sensor – a rarity in the smartphone world. The co-developed photography mode with Studio Harcourt promises studio-level portrait photography, setting a new benchmark for smartphone photography.

2. Display and performance

The Honor 200 Pro sports a 6.78-inch OLED display with a peak brightness of 4,000 nits.

Under the hood, it houses a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The non-Pro model, the Honor 200, shares most of these specs, including the 50MP selfie and telephoto sensors, but with a slightly smaller screen and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. Both models deliver smooth performance and vibrant visuals.

3. Battery and charging

Powering the Honor 200 Series is a 5,200mAh Silicon-carbon battery.

Users can enjoy the convenience of 100W wired charging and 66W wireless charging. Whether you’re a heavy user or always on the move, the battery life and fast charging capabilities have you covered.

4. Price and availability

While exact pricing details are yet to be confirmed, South African consumers can expect the Honor 200 devices to fall within a similar range as the Honor 90 series.

The official launch event is scheduled for July 24th. For those eager to get their hands on an Honor device sooner, the Honor 200 Lite is already available, priced at R10,000, with additional free gifts included.
