It’s not often that fans get to see a racetrack from the air for an extended period. Usually, cameras are strapped to racing drivers’ cars or helmets, which is pretty awesome, but leaves the fans unable to comprehend the sheer scale of some of the world’s permier motor racing arenas.
But thanks to drone technology, we can do just that. What circuit you ask? None other than Austin’s Circuit of the Americas, host to this weekend’s Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

Designed by Formula 1’s favourite circuit whisperer, Hermann Tilke, the circuit comprises of nearly six kilometres of ribboned tarmac through an undulating landscape — quite possibly the man’s best work. It also has a 250-foot VIP tower for good measure, with a concert amphitheatre beneath.
For drivers it’s an immense challenge but for spectators, it’s a blast. We’ve seen some great races here in the past, in V8 Supercars, the World Endurance Championship and Formula 1, where the podium trio all unashamedly don stetsons.
Take an alternative, melodic dubstep infused trip around the circuit from a drone’s eye view below.
