Bentley has produced a definite contender for best-looking concept at the Geneva Auto Show in the EX 10 Speed 6. The luxury automaker also told press at the event that while it would be easy to put the two-seater sports car into production, it currently has no plans to. Sorry Bentley, but you absolutely need to change those plans.
Quite aside from the fact that the Speed 6 looks absolutely stunning, it looks like Bentley’s in a place where it could build exactly this kind of 1960s-inspired British sports car and do it well.

At the same time as it pulled the covers off the Speed 6, it announced a suite of design upgrades for its existing models as well as a power and torque increase — from 575 PS (567 bhp / 423 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb.ft) to 590 PS (582 bhp / 434 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb.ft) — in its 6.0-litre twin turbo W12 engine.
Sticking something with anywhere near that level of power in the Speed 6 would certainly give the bigwigs at Jaguar and Aston Martin something to think about at night. Indeed, Bentley appears to have aimed the Speed 6 squarely at its British rivals.
In the press release announcing the car’s unveiling for instance, it almost immediately calls it a “British interpretation” of a high performance two seater sportscar.
Of course, Bentley may just be testing the water by launching the Speed 6 as a concept at Geneva.
As Car and Driver notes, some parts of the car look like they’re ready for production. There’s also the fact that the Speed 6 has been developed alongside Bentley’s other forthcoming cars.
Bentley bosses aren’t denying that it’ll be built either:
“This is not just a new sports car concept – but the potential Bentley of sports cars – a bold vision for a brand with a bold future,†said Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors.
Here’s hoping.
