Yesterday Apple held a launch event for its smart watch (with prices ranging from absurd to completely absurd), prompting a rush from a range of developers to port over their existing iOS apps to the new medium. First off the mark among the world’s car makers is BMW.
The German manufacturer will be bringing its iRemote app, built for the i3 and i8, to the Apple Watch.

In fact, the app actually made a bit of a cameo during the event, complete with a rundown of the features it’ll ship with. As Jalopnik points out, iRemote for the Apple Watch will allow drivers to set the interior temperature in their car, lock and unlock the doors, flash the headlights, and sound the horn.
Other potential features include being able to set charging times for off-peak hours as well as locating the car and directing you to the nearest public charging station.
