If you’re one of those people desperate for everything from Back to the Future to be a reality, then we’ve got some good news. That Lexus hoverboard we told you about a little while back has a launch date.
The luxury Japanese automaker will be unveiling the sci-fi creation on 5 August. And if the trailer it’s released to accompany the announcement is anything to go by, it won’t just be tamely using it to go in a straight line either.

The hoverboard uses superconducter technology on its onboard magnets and, by the looks of things, cools them down with liquid Nitrogen.
The concept is the fourth project in the company’s Amazing in Motion campaign, and is meant to demonstrate Lexus’ commitment to pursuing new possibilities in advanced design and technology.
