Paul Feig, the man behind the new Ghostbusters movie, has revealed the Ecto 1 car the film’s all-female team will be driving and, chances are, some people won’t be happy.
As was the case in the original movie, the ghost busting crew will be driving a Cadillac hearse. Unlike the original however, it won’t borrow from the free-flowing lines of the 1959 model.

As The Verge notes, the new model maintains the array of sirens and side ladder, but is a little boxier than the original.
The colour scheme is also a little more muted than the one seen on the Ecto 1 we were introduced to 31 years ago.
Truth be told though, it would’ve been difficult for Feig to achieve any kind of favorable consensus. Had he radically updated the car, he would’ve been accused of not staying true to the film’s roots and had he done nothing, he would most likely have been accused of lacking imagination.
The new film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones and is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2016.
