Muscle cars and space travel. There are very few things in existence that are cooler. Rather than accepting that as a statement of fact though, Ford seems to have decided that it’s a challenge.
The American car giant has released a special Apollo Edition Mustang and there’s no getting around the fact that it looks absolutely awesome.

The Apollo Mustang has been built in aid of the Experimental Aircraft Association youth education programmes in the US. This is the eighth time Ford has built a Mustang for this cause.
Based on a 2015 fastback Ford Mustang GT, the Apollo Mustang’s exterior is predominantly white with large dashes of black, and red accents.
Inside, there are plenty of nods to the Apollo space programme, including performance gauges, modified instrument cluster, unique sill plates and embroidered elements in seats, trim panels and floor mats. The highlight though has to be the badges from all the Apollo missions on the rear bench back.
Performance enhancements include a performance package, Ford Performance supercharger and shifter, X-pipe with side and rear exhaust, sport-tuned suspension, six-piston Brembo brakes and custom Forgiato 21-inch performance wheels.
According to Ford, the Apollo Mustang — which will be auctioned at a special gala event — will pack 627 horsepower and 540 lb.-ft. of torque.
