BMW M3, M4 Competition package brings more power, race day bling

If you feel that the BMW M3 (or M4) is a bit sluggish off the line, the Munich-based manufacturer has an answer.

The company today announced that it will offer customers a new Competition package for the power and style hungry owners of its performance coupe and four-door saloon.

The package is available for the M3, M4 and M4 cabrio variant, and boosts power output to around 331kW for all models.

Beyond the power increase, the cars’ chassis also see upgrades, including a new Active Suspension package “which has been extensively tuned to the enhanced performance and handling, and which features new springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, along with reconfigured driving modes,” the company explains.

And it wouldn’t be much of a performance package if it didn’t bring aesthetic changes too. Black Chrome tailpipes top off the M sports exhaust system, while BMW’s “Individual high-gloss Shadow Line exterior trim” rounds off the race ready look.

“The high-gloss Black finish has been applied not only to the side window trim, window recess finishers and exterior mirror frames and bases, but also to the BMW kidney grille, the side gills and the model badge on the tail,” the company concludes.
