F1: Williams first to reveal images of 2017 challenger

Williams F1

The 2017 F1 season is poised for a huge shakeup thanks to significant rule changes this year. Between wider tyres and higher downforce, the cars are set for a huge speed improvement as a result.

Now, Williams has become the first team to show off its car, giving us a few images of the FW40 challenger…

The new car shows off the wider tyres for this season, as well as the cranked front wing, aggressive sidepod designs and lower rear wing.

It’s interesting to note that the “thumb tip” on the nose is still there, so those hoping for sleeker noses will be somewhat disappointed.

As for the other constructors? Expect all the teams to reveal their cars this week, starting with Sauber today and ending with Red Bull, Haas and Toro Rosso on Sunday 26 February.

The season kicks off on 26 March in Australia, but will Mercedes continue its dominance or will the rules make for a shake-up?
