Jaguar has introduced the updated version of its iconic F-Type sportscar to the South African market, following from the international reveal in December last year.
Although the F-Type platform has been in production since 2013, its design remains striking.

With this new range, which is ten derivatives strong, Jaguar offers the latest headlight and grille elements from its broader product portfolio.
Those Jaguar followers interested in all things F-Type will notice the slimmer headlamps. These now house pixel LED illumination functionality.
On the inside, Jaguar’s driver-centric cabin architecture remains relatively unaltered. But there are improvements regarding the F-Type’s digitisation.
The 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel has a selection of configurable themes, which are unique to F-Type.
Jaguar F-Type engine options and performance
Powering the F-Type range are three engine configurations, varying from four to eight cylinders.
The P300 variants feature a 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, boosting 221kW and 400Nm. Performance statistics for these four-cylinder F-Types include a benchmark 0-100kph time of 5.7 seconds and 250kph top speed.
Adding two-cylinder and a litre of capacity is the P380. Its supercharged 3-litre V6 engine produces 280kW and 460Nm.
With the option of all-wheel drive, the P380 can run 0-100kph in 4.9 seconds and registers a top speed of 275kph.
The revised F-Type model range apexes with Jaguar’s 5-litre V8, which is also supercharged.
If you are all about the stats, the V8 F-Type is good for 423kW and 700Nm, This incidentally matches the outputs of Jaguar’s pre-upgrade F-Type SVR.
Performance numbers for the F-Type V8 are predictably epic, with 0-100kph in 3.7 seconds and a 300kph top speed.
Meanwhile, all-wheel drive assists in balancing the delivery of all that power, making the V8’s surging performance more accessible.
