Twitter blasts Computicket for #LadyGagaSA fail

It’s funny how quickly things can change, isn’t it. Yesterday South Africans were celebrating the announcement that the queen of Twitter herself Lady Gaga would be gracing their shores. Today they’re in full complaint mode about the long queues online ticketing service Computicket has been subjecting them to.

Most had to wait hours for the chance to buy a ticket, while some experienced irregularities when they tried to pay. Others had the site freeze on them when they got to the front of the queue before sending them back a thousand places.

Here’s just a selection of the trials and tribulations some people went through to get their hands on a precious set of tickets to a Mother Monster show:

Then again, tour organiser Big Concerts apparently wasn’t being all that constructive in the way it handled the ticketing crisis on social media:

It’s almost 7 hours now – AND STILL NO TICKETS! Huge, titanic, epic, disgraceful, shameful, fail by Big Concerts and Computicket!

And as for their lack of Twitter and Facebook response – it’s looking very suspiciously and highly likely that they both have some or other (quite useless) PR company running those accounts for them. This comment from Big Concerts was my best :

Got online to queue in the morning at about 8:15 am and by 10am i had my tickets even though i got a message that said i had to wait 6 and a half hours but my co-worker was in the queue at about 9:15 and is still waiting because when her tern came, she was pestered by time-outs. I just think they should have let people get the tickets online and at computicket outlets from the get go. Oh, the last tweet was really funny
