Jump Shopping launches new eCommerce price comparison tool
Jump Shopping has launched a brand new price comparison tool aimed specifically at the South African ecommerce market.
The tool, called FindPrice, is reportedly aimed at helping shoppers keep track of the deals they find online. According to Jump Shopping, it does this by listing products from a number of stores by category.
The ecommerce platform also claims to have built “new and extensive filters” into FindPrice. These filters, it claims, allow for offers to be “matched and grouped on a single page”. They also mean that customers will be able to “compare prices and make decisions knowing they have found the best price on offer.”
Jump Shopping also claims FindPrice will attend to any latent security issues by offering ‘Verified Shops’, where online shops have to meet a strict set of criteria in order to be verified by FindPrice”.
These shops will also have to disclose a number details about themselves including “a shop description, a contact method, delivery details and payment methods, which are publicly available in the shop directory”.
Jump Shopping also seems to aware of the economic environment into which it is launching its new product. To this end, it claims that Find Price will indicate “which offers qualify for free shipping in the search results”. It adds that shoppers can also “filter offers to only show those that qualify for free shipping.”
It will also offer price alerts and “price history graphs” to keep track of price trends.
The existing ecommerce offerings on the company’s jump.co.za platform will all be gradually transitioned onto FindPrice. Following the transition it claims that the old platform “will act as a content site focused on E-Commerce, bringing shoppers news” as well as South Africa’s ecommerce Awards.
