Marvel rewards Avengers Facebook fans with early screenings

Being a fan, be it of a sport’s team, franchise, or band can be frustrating. But that dedication can also, very occasionally, have massive pay off.

The rewards being offered by Marvel to fans of its upcoming movie The Avengers is a case in point. The studio announced that it would be offering advance screenings of the movie all over the world in those cities where the movie has the most fans on Facebook.

People in those cities will get to see the eagerly anticipated film some three weeks before the rest of the world.

According to the Associated Press, the early screenings will start in LA, New York City, and Miami.

Admission will be free. The catch? It’s on a first-come-first-serve basis. Cue dedicated fans sleeping on sidewalks to get hold of their tickets.

Don’t think there’s hype for this film? Bear in mind that the most recent English trailer for it smashed viewership records.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson.

Avengers is directed by Joss Whedon, most famous for being the creator sci-fi western Firefly and action horror Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It is based on the Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963.
