Russian giant Mail.Ru launches social browser
Looks like a Russian front just opened in the browser wars. Internet giant Mail.RU has launched a socially integrated web browser called Amigo.
The launch comes six weeks after the company revamped its ‘Internet’ (yes that’s really its name) browser. According to The Next Web, the update was aimed at making browsing safer.
Like Opera, Amigo comes standard with a bar that allows people to connect directly with Russian and International social networks. As well as the likes of Facebook and Twitter, you can plug the browser directly into Russian sites like Odnoklassniki, VKontakte and Moi Mir.
People using the browser will reportedly be able follow activity and messages from friends, post to social networks themselves and listen to music all from within the browser.
