Bieber takes Twitter crown from Gaga
Beliebers of the world rejoice, your idol is now the most followed account on Twitter.
Yup, that’s right the Canadian pop sensation has overtaken Lady Gaga to lay claim to the social networking crown. Bieber now has 33 339 968 followers while Mother Monster has 33 333 379.
Gaga has topped the Twitter account charts since 2010 and was the first to go past 10, 20 and 30-million followers.
The pop superstar probably won’t be too fazed about losing her crown as Twitter’s most followed person. While neither singer has acknowledged the incident as of yet, Gaga did congratulate Bieber when he went past 30-million followers last week:
“So proud of @justinbieber and all the Beliebers! I’m only happy to see your fans growing in size, you all deserve it! Monsters support you!”
It probably doesn’t hurt that Gaga still holds the Facebook grown with 54.98-million likes to Bieber’s 50.66-million.
As celebrity news site E! points out though, Bieber could soon be wearing another social media crown. He’s rapidly creeping up on Kim Kardashian, currently the most followed person on Instagram. The reality TV star has 6.3-million followers while Bieber has 6.1-million.
A few more photos like the one of his bare butt and he’ll have passed Kardashian in no time.
