‘The Internship’: the movie starring Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson and Google
Silicon Valley is pretty mainstream these days. If you want proof look no further than the offerings that have our come to our screens over the last few years: The Social Network, that ridiculous Silicon Valley reality TV show and now The Internship Movie.
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s latest project sees them playing two “salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital world.” In a bid to get around that, they interview for a job at Google.
Much of the movie takes place in Google’s “Campus” and sees Vaugn and Wilson take part in a series of challenges in their bid to get the internship at Google. Hi-jinx ensue as Vaughn writes on a clear perspex wall with a sharpie and he and Wilson set off on a mission to find “Professor Charles Xavier” at Stanford University. Naturally, they find a wheelchair-bound balding man with a posh accent. Hilarity ensues.
It’ll be interesting to see what Google alumni think of the film, but it looks like it’ll be good for a couple of laughs.
