Chatting Digital’s role in advertising with Ogilvy CT’s Gavin Levinsohn
In our newest video series, ‘On the Road’, Memeburn’s Mich Atagana went to Ogilvy Cape Town’s offices to chat with outgoing Managing Director Gavin Levinsohn on the role Digital plays (and will play) in shaping advertising, and the way he approaches campaigns, digital and other.
Levinsohn notes the way in which Digital is changing the advertising landscape, and enables greater consumer/user engagement and thus encourages new kinds of participation.
He also talks about how important it is to understand the need for collaboration with clients and the scale of the campaign one’s working on. Furthermore, Levinsohn touches on the way in which he approaches marketing campaigns and how the desired outcome dictates the process.
He gives us examples of what molded Ogilvy CT into becoming a digitally led marketing agency. To round off the discussion, he tackles South Africa’s strengths and weaknesses, and its future in digital branding and advertising.
