George RR Martin posts his first tweet, but don’t expect too many more
Geeks all over the world worship George RR Martin, author of the A Song of Ice of Fire series, adapted into the wildly popular HBO series Game of Thrones and now they can follow him on Twitter.
Martin sent out his first tweet yesterday, although by the looks of things we shouldn’t expect too much activity on the account:
I don't tweet all that much, please check out my live journal page. 😉 #myfirstTweet
— George RR Martin (@GRRMspeaking) June 9, 2014
Of course, devoted fans of the author are fully aware of his predilection for the old school social network. What some people might not know though is that Martin’s personal site also looks like a complete blast from the past.
The account was confirmed as officially belonging to Martin by his publisher Random House:
Are you following a #GRRM impersonator? We can officially announce that @GRRMspeaking is the real deal (though he won't be tweeting much)…

The saddest news though is that Martin’s actual tweets will never be as good as the gem that this impersonator produced on the eve of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding:
I don't know why I wasn't invited, I'm great at weddings… @KimKardashian @kanyewest
