Could the ‘Daily Mail’ have posed as radical forum user to incite Muslim rage?

As America celebrated its Independence Day, a supposed journalist from the UK’s Daily Mail crept onto Ummah, a Muslim discussion board and, in a rather lame attempt to possibly incite the forum users, posed as a radical militant intent on “waging war against the corrupt west.”

But Ummah’s forum regulars weren’t so gullible as to believe “abuaisha10”, a user who supposedly represents the Daily Mail. Ummah’s users found that abuaisha10’s registration IP address was 195.234.240.212, which led to the homepage of the Mail Online.

Since the discussion on Ummah is now offline (but a cached copy remains), it is difficult to link the Daily Mail with this misguided attempt to cause unrest.

If it’s revealed to be true, the Daily Mail has some explaining to do. We’ve reached out to the Daily Mail for it’s response, in the meanwhile, the cached copy of the page can be viewed below.
