The uncertainty around the Aaron Sorkin-headed Steve Jobs movie is surprising. How is it that a biopic on one of the most successful business man struggles to find a studio and a leading actor? But all is not lost as Universal Pictures has picked up the biopic and will produce it after Sony dropped it after two years of development. Incredibly, the picture was dropped without any explanation from the studio.
A spokesperson from Universal Pictures confirmed that the studio has bought the title but has not confirmed the reports that the company paid US$30-million for it.

Sorkin, who also wrote the unofficial Facebook film The Social Network, will stay on as screenwriter and Danny Boyle will remain in the director’s chair. The film is based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of the late Apple co-founder.
Michael Fassbender, the 12 years a Slave and X Men: Origins star, is confirmed to play Jobs after Christian Bale dropped the role. Seth Rogen is also in talks to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
Sorkin had hinted that the project would be made of three thirty minutes long scenes depicting backstage events at key Apple launches. The details of the sale have not been revealed and so at this moment it is not for certain if the script will remain the same under the helm of Universal Pictures.
