Dropbox’s latest update, which allows users to drag and drop URLs, looks pretty impressive.

The update means that users can now save links in Dropbox on the web, desktop, and mobile and open them later as webpages on Dropbox and access them from any device.

This feature is useful if, for instance, you want to save links at work and read them on your commute or at home.

The update “means you can take your bookmarks anywhere, instead of having them confined to a certain browser on a certain computer. But it also means you can organize all your information, no matter the format, into Dropbox folders — so your information is in one central place,” Dropbox says in a blog post.

The ability to drag and drop URLs alsoe works across different browsers. Dropbox says the feature is particularly useful when planning a work event or remodelling a kitchen, because one can now save all the links they open to look at different décor, all in one place.

This feature, Dropbox goes on to say, is also great for students, when organising and storing URLs of academic sources during research so they can read on the go or for future reference when drafting a paper.

What will be useful with this feature is the ability to read the URLs off line. It needs to do this in order to compete with apps like Pocket.

To give this new feature a try, users can sign into Dropbox.com or download the latest version of the Dropbox iOS or Android app.
