New MWeb users to get 3 months free ADSL, ShowMax access
If you’re looking to change ADSL service providers this year, you might want to have a look at MWeb’s latest offering. New users signing up to the ISP will receive three months free ADSL. Alongside that access, they’ll also receive three months access to Naspers-owned video-on-demand service ShowMax.
The offer is available until 31 March to customers who sign up for a 12-month subscription to one of MWEB’s ADSL service products (excluding 1GB, 2GB, 5GB Capped and Uncapped 1Mbps services).
Customers who sign up before then will receive three months of free MWEB ADSL services as well as a complimentary voucher for 90 days’ access to ShowMax. They will then be billed for both the ShowMax and ADSL amounts for the remaining months of the 12-month contract.

“If your New Year’s resolutions have anything to do with becoming more tech-savvy, living a more connected life, improving your internet connection or saving money,” says Carolyn Holgate, GM Sales, Marketing and Product at MWEB, “then this offer comes at the right time. By combining free internet access and giving you access to ShowMax this the perfect way to start the New Year.”
The offer comes shortly after Netflix announced its global expansion, allowing South Africans to access it legally for the first time. Right now SowMax’ library has the edge on its Amercian counterpart — in South Africa at least — meaning that it’ll want to get as many people using it as possible while it still has that advantage.
Since launching in mid 2015, ShowMax has sought to innovate beyond the features we traditionally associate with VoD services, allowing people to access it using prepaid vouchers as well as providing a feature for downloads and offline viewing.
