South Africa’s weekend box office: Suicide Squad explodes into theatres [2016/08/08]

It looks like super hero-type movies will continue to attract audiences as Suicide Squad (our review) debuts in first place in SA. What else did SA love this past weekend (5 to 7 August)?

Apart from DC Comics’s latest film, two other films — Jason Bourne and Ghostbusters — are sitting in top SA box office positions.

Then there’s Ice Age 5: Collision Course and Legend of Tarzan, which are occupying the fourth and fifth spaces respectively.

The movies that’s grossed the highest on this list so far, Finding Dory, isn’t even in the top five. In fact, the movie is struggling to keep afloat in the ninth position.
