Twitter reacts to first female Doctor Who
Jodie Whittaker has been named the first female Doctor in popular British series Doctor Who, and people have opinions about it.
From “this alien can’t possibly morph into anything but a white man” to “women will ruin everything you love,” these opinions highlight the greater need for everyone to step away from their screens and go for a walk in the crisp winter air.

Many (male) fans were upset that the new series wouldn’t represent them, despite having 36 seasons they can return to should they feel the need.
Imagine one of your favourite shows but with someone of the opposite gender playing your favourite character(s). Hell.

Time LORD. I repeat the Doctor is a time LORD. Not a time LADY.

“Ideoology and political propaganda in Doctor Who?” one Twitter user asked of an art form that can never be separate from “ideology”.
Ideology and politic propaganda in #DoctorWho ? No thanks. Farewell, it was a nice show. Hope will stay that way for those who won’t care.

But for every outraged man there was another Twitter user making fun of him.
Oh great a female Doctor Who. What next? Female real doctors? Female pilots? Female scientists? Female sisters and mothers? Female WOMEN?!

‘Feminists ruining my childhood’ cry fandoms of DrWho/StarWars/Ghostbusters. Meanwhile little girls cannot safely Google My Little Pony

Some even took a dig at showrunner Stephen Moffat.
When talking about who ruined Doctor Who, “women” is the weirdest way of spelling “Stephen Moffat” I’ve ever seen.

And, of course, there were many more excited women.
