Video: Theewaterskloof Dam now resembles one big splash pool
The City of Cape Town’s latest dam report may have suggested a bump in rainfall for October and a decline in consumption across the metro, but one thing remained consistent: the Theewaterskloof Dam continued to shrink.
The dam lost around 0.5% of its storage in the final week of October, even though many of the Cape’s other reservoirs gained.
A new video published on 1 November by YouTube user Russell Dippenaar shows the impact the current water crisis has had on the Western Cape’s biggest dam.
This video isn’t the first to cover the near-empty dam.
South African vlogger Adam Spires, also known as Wannabe Vlogger on YouTube, traveled to the dam itself to highlight its dire conditions.
The Theewaterskloof is one of five large dams that supply water to Cape Town.
