It’s that time of the week again — Monday, to be exact — where we scour the inner walls of Reddit to find the best, strangest and hottest subreddits of the week.

So without further ado, grab your coffee, set your email to DND and let’s get this procrastination show started.

NeverTellMeTheOdds

Putting some cheese on my burger from nevertellmetheodds

If you have a friend who postulates you can’t make that obviously difficult shot, unfriend them now. You don’t need that negativity in your life.

That’s what these internet stars did, and look where they are now.

Shedding the mathematical shackles of odds and chance, they simply turned up, attempted and accomplished feats that only Dude Perfect can really appreciate.

ReverseAnimalRescue

Man and Woman put a litter of kittens in a wall pipe because she hates the smell of cats. from reverseanimalrescue

What if all animal rescue stories are in fact fake, and in an evil twist, the rescuer was the person who put said animal in danger? That’s what this odd subreddit imagines.

Taking usually positive tales of animal rescues and throwing them into reverse, this sub make it seem as if Bob was trying to drown Puppy in the well all along.

Don’t worry, Puppy — along with the other animals on this sub — are fine.

BehindTheGIFS

Slow as sh from behindthegifs

Last week we featured BehindThePhoto, which told the story of how a particular photograph was captured.

BehindTheGIF is slightly different.

Melding cartoon framing, a real world GIF and the comical imagination of the internet’s finest, the subreddit adds context to funny GIFs that would otherwise be just that — funny.

It’s definitely one for the art and intelligent humour lovers out there.

WeWantPlates

Taquitos in a cigar box from WeWantPlates

This one goes out to all those trendy Cape Town restaurants out there.

These some-200 000 non-caped crusaders post pictures of food served on receptacles that aren’t plates. And they are rightfully appalled.

From tree stumps, to hanging baskets, to shoes and cigar boxes — this trend of serving food on anything but a plate needs to stop. And this sub helps to reinforce that sentiment.

Keep doing what you’re doing, WeWantPlates. ‘The world needs you.
