Google on Tuesday revealed a new AR tool for YouTube that will let users try on make-up in tutorial videos.
“Today, we’re introducing AR Beauty Try-On, which lets viewers virtually try on make-up while following along with YouTube creators to get tips, product reviews, and more,” the company said on its blog.
No ad to show here.
Currently, the feature is being tested on YouTube’s Famebit platform for influencer brand marketing, where users can try on M·A·C lipsticks.
“After trying on a lipstick, they can click to visit M·A·C’s website to purchase it,” Google explained.
Google is also launching a 3D display format called Swirl, a Display and Video 360 feature that will allow brands to create three-dimensional ads for mobile.
Users will be able to “zoom in and out, rotate a product, or play an animation”, effectively interacting with products in ads.
The new AR and 3D tools will be available for brands towards the end of 2019.
